Handbells
Find out how pupils learn to play handbells and chimes, building skills in note-reading, expression, and harmony.
In Handbells Ensemble members learn and perform interesting pieces of music using a range of bells and chimes. They are taught note-reading and how to play with expression and harmony. Members are also taught to effectively control and phrase the dynamics of a score so as to sensitively express the qualities of music.
The love of music, alertness, self-discipline, patience and teamwork are essential characteristics of a ringer to make beautiful music that is well-balanced and blended. They take part in performances which aim to cultivate the members to become aspiring, confident and joyful musicians. Biennially, we take part in the Singapore Youth Festival (Arts Performance). There are also opportunities to perform for some school events.

CCA FAQs
In the years there is SYF, CCA sessions will be twice a week (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays) until the SYF performance.
Students are highly encouraged to be committed to the CCA for at least two years to hone their skills.
No audition is required.
Those who have some music background and are able to read music notes are highly encouraged to join.
Those who do not have any music theory background but keen to learn how to read a music score may still join and will be taught the basics during the CCA sessions.
