Contemporary issues: Perspectives & Inquiry (CPI) is offered as a subject in the SEC programme for Sec 1 and 2 students.
Aims
This course is designed to explore the values and diversity of local and neighbouring communities. Through research and discussions of contemporary issues, students draw on their personal experiences, examine their values and beliefs and explore various perspectives to reach a deeper understanding of societal issues. This helps them to develop an understanding of their own identities and cultures and appreciate the balance between the individual narrative and that of a collective position within a larger context. Through this course, students will be challenged to embrace an others-centered view in the way they perceive the world.
