Parent Volunteer (PV) at Methodist Girls’ School (MGS)

The Parent Volunteer (PV) Scheme is applicable to parents whose daughters are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.

Application Timeline

MGS will only begin accepting applications one year before the student is due for P1 registration. For example, if your daughter is born in 2021 and will enter P1 in 2028, the P1 registration dates for children born in 2021 will be in 2027. We will accept PV applications for that cohort in April 2026.

Application Process

Please note that submitting an application online form does not guarantee acceptance as a PV by MGS. PV applicants will be evaluated and selected by the School Leaders after all applications have been received. Only successful applicants will be notified via email.

Volunteer Requirements

Successful PVs will serve from July 2026 to June 2027, the following year and must complete at least 40 hours of volunteer work, including 10 hours of traffic management. Either parent may contribute to the service during the volunteering period. Upon completion of the programme, PVs will receive a letter of completion confirming eligibility for Phase 2B registration in 2027.

Important Note

Please be aware that MGS, like other Methodist Schools in Singapore, has a large body of Methodist member affiliates who are also eligible for priority registration under Phase 2B. Balloting will be conducted when the number of applicants exceeds the number of vacancies under Phase 2B. Therefore, being a PV does not guarantee a place for your daughter at MGS.
