Student Leadership
The MGS Student Leadership Programme supports the school vision of building a caring and enabling school environment through nurturing a sense of belonging, appreciating diversity, empowering learners, and monitoring and supporting well-being.
The Student Leaders play an important role in building an MGS culture where all areas of need are met, so that every member owns the community and contributes to building it up. They do this by being and becoming:
-
Enablers who encourage deeper ownership and accountability towards the MGS community
-
Connectors who forge enduring relationships amongst the MGS community
-
Nurturers who foster a deep sense of belonging within the MGS community
-
Catalysts of positive well-being in the MGS community
Student Leaders must consistently demonstrate a leadership posture that is consistent in role-modelling the school values of Godliness, Excellence and Love. Opportunities through the various school platforms will be provided for them to demonstrate their leadership skills. The Student Leadership teachers journey with them in the process to support their growth.
Leadership Boards
Students who demonstrate strong leadership potential and a commitment to serving the school community are selected to join one of three leadership boards, where they undergo further development in leadership knowledge, skills, and competencies. The three Leadership Boards work in partnership to organise and execute major school-wide events such Orientation, MG Week and Teachers’ Day.
